Days 4 - 5 Kenmare and Southern Peninsulas
(Tuesday - Wednesday. October 23 -24)
Deep in the heart of the rugged South West of Ireland is nestled
one
of the nation’s prettiest towns. Kenmare is a colourful and vibrant place
that lies between mountain and sea. Rich in history, Kenmare is today regarded
as
one of Ireland’s great gourmet centres. It will be our base for two nights,
allowing us to explore
the history of Ireland etched on the dramatic landscapes of the peninsulas of
Sheeps Head and Beara Peninsula and in particular examine the incredible archaeology
of the region; the rich ritual antiquities of the Bronze Ages and the earliest
sites associated
with our Moriarty forefathers.
Day 6 - 8 Uíbh Ráthach/'Ring of Kerry' & Dingle Peninsula
(Thursday – Saturday. October 25 -27)
Our tour schedule will have a great deal of flexibility to allow participants
engage with all that the region has to offer or to relax. There will be opportunities
to play golf at some of the finest links in the world Waterville, Ballybunion
or Tralee, to hike hill or coastal walks, to shop, connect with relations, meditate,
paint, bike…..
There will a chance to explore the “Ring of Kerry” region and it’s
incredible wealth of cultural and natural riches. There will be a chance to visit
the monastic outpost that is Scelig Mhichíl (Skelligs) before we head
to the magical peninsula of Dingle. This has been described as “the most
beautiful place on Earth” (National Geographic). Our base will be in Dingle
town from where we will explore the majesty of this landscape. It is a place
of great seafood, fifty pubs, amazing music, where Gaelic is the mother tongue
of the inhabitants and of course with strong Moriarty connections. Depart Ireland/tour
