Walking & Hiking Day Excursions
…offered in the company of passionate outdoor enthusiasts, scholars and guides to individuals and groups.
Below are listed just are just some of our favourite walks and hikes around the region we call home. There are many more in fact but we are a little hesitant here to mention them – for fear of too many people discovering some of the delicate and wildest places in Ireland . I speak of wild and untouched places that stand in comparison with any of the wild places I have experienced around the world, places largely unknown and unseen and breathtakingly beautiful. (One of these is the remotest and least visited early-Christian monastic outpost in Ireland – and maybe anywhere on Earth. Truly!)
At Hidden Ireland Tours, these are the places we go to by ourselves and on occasions, share with small numbers of friends and special guests.
Here we offer a handful of walks and tougher hikes located in the Killarney Valley and throughout the five peninsulas of the South West, all of them outstanding for their natural beauty and of course the human stories etched upon the land here.
Con Moriarty
Private guided ascents of Corrán Tuathail, Ireland’s highest mountain.
The Killarney Valley, located in the heart of County Kerry.
Known for it’s famous touring ring road, the Ring of Kerry.
An area of outstanding natural beauty overlaid with an extraordinary human history.
The middle of the five peninsulas of the south west of Ireland, Beara is bounded by the Bays of Kenmare and Bantry.
The most southerly of Ireland’s promontories, Mizen Head is the most southerly point in Ireland.
“Con Moriarty’s love of his homeland is present every minute as you tour with him and hear his stories and experience his perspective of ireland – great story teller, wonderful guides, beautiful experience.”
